So This Is Love...Actually

This past weekend I had the pleasure of doing day of coordination for some very good friends. Courtney, is my best friends older sister and when she asked for my assistance on her special day I was elated! Courtney and Dave are a lovely couple and I was so happy to learn a few months ago that they were getting married! They wanted to stay in the city and the venue they chose was PERFECT! The Capitol Event Theater on Yonge Street is a beautiful, sophisticated venue, with tons of old charm. The building has been restored to the way it originally looked in 1918. With beautiful hardwood floors, high ceilings and wonderful staff, this venue is unbeatable.

Courtney and Dave got to do some very unique things with this space! Because it is an old theater, it has a marquis where the film names used to be displayed, on this special day it read "Courtney & Dave. So This Is Love....Actually". They also got some gorgeous movie poster made up, they were on display on Yonge St. It was such a cool idea! Because of the time of year Courtney and Dave decided to get married, a week before Christmas! They wanted to create a "winter wonderland" of sorts. The centrepieces were trees, spray painted silver, stuck in a pot and covered in crystals. The crystals were strands that were draped over the branches. They were placed on 4 mirrors in the centre of the table, surrounded by tea lights and mini diamonds. It looked spectacular! The branches also had a special meaning to the bride, her father had passed away years earlier, she, along with her mom and sisters planted a beautiful tree in their yard in his honor. The branches used for the centrepieces are from that tree. I couldn't imagine a more perfect, unique way to include such a loving man in the wedding. One of the things I really love about weddings is the potential to make it completely personalized to a couple.

The whole day went off without any issues. My trusty assistant and I set up for the ceremony and ensured that we were prepared enough for the cocktail hour turnover to go smoothly! All of the tables had to be set and ready to go in under an hour, not an easy feat! The venue was awesome at ensuring we stayed in our time range. Once the tables were set, the finishing touch was a small bag of m+m's on every plate, such a cute idea. The m+m's had a picture of Courtney and Dave on them! Really great personal touch and a yummy treat!

All in all this was a beautiful winter wedding! Cheers to a very happy future Courtney and Dave!
