The wedding girls 2014 Book List!

OK, I know everyone is talking about it...but serious...-40, how should we even be allowed to leave the house?! It should be illegal, I'm still defrosting and was only outside for 3 minutes, 2 hours ago! Another thing that is popping up all over social media is everyone's take on last nights episode of the Bachelor. As I've admitted in the past, I do watch this show, religiously, usually with a group of ladies. What. A. Trainwreck. Bless some of these girls. Man, is it ever entertainly though.

Due to the fact it is an icebox and if I could be anywhere in the world I would genuinely chose my couch, under a pile of blankets, with my book pile and endless amounts of hot tea. I thought I would share the books I am most excited about in the next few months. Get ready for a bit of a dork fest. It is honestly overwhelmingly exciting when I hear one of my favorite authors is coming out with a new book, never mind almost all of them!! I've gotten great feedback when I've done book lists on this blog before, so here it is folks, here is what I cannot wait to read (and is currently sitting patiently on my amazon wishlist) in 2014!

Tempting Fate, Jane Green
So I know I've already shared how excited I am for this book but honestly, Jane Green has been one of my favorites for so long and she was just SO lovely when we chatted over the phone. I was having such a fan girl moment! Here is the excerpt from amazon.
In Tempting Fate by Jane Green, Gabby and Elliott have been happily married for eighteen years.  They have two teenaged daughters; they have built a life together.  So why does forty-three-year-old Gabby feel like she has only three more minutes left of youth?  Why do her friends so desperately try to hang on to their attractiveness?  And why does she ever even look at the handsome guy—ten years younger—at the other end of the bar one night?  Gabby is the last person to have an affair—a physical one, at least.  But Matt makes her feel sparkling, fascinating—something she hasn't felt in years.  Surely there's no harm in continuing a long-distance friendship?  Surely there's no harm in an emotional affair?  As Gabby steps ever deeper into the allure of attraction and attention things turn perilous.  If she makes one wrong move she could lose everything--and find out what really matters most.

Uganda be kidding me, Chelsea Handler

Twisted Sisters, Jen Lancaster

I think I've made my affection for Jen Lancaster very clear. I have read and admired each one of her books, honestly, I just want to hang out with this woman! Here is the amazon excerpt.

New York Times bestselling author Jen Lancaster is “as adept at fiction as she is at telling her own stories” (Publishers Weekly, starred review). And now in her new novel, reality gets an unreal makeover…Reagan Bishop is a pusher. A licensed psychologist who stars on the Wendy Winsberg cable breakout show I Need a Push, Reagan helps participants become their best selves by urging them to overcome obstacles and change behaviors. An overachiever, Reagan is used to delivering results.

Despite her overwhelming professional success, Reagan never seems to earn her family’s respect. Her younger sister, Geri, is and always will be the Bishop family favorite. When a national network buys Reagan’s show, the pressures for unreasonably quick results and higher ratings mount. But Reagan’s a clinician, not a magician, and fears witnessing her own personal failings in prime time. (And seriously? Her family will never let her hear the end of it.) Desperate to make the show work and keep her family at bay, Reagan actually listens when the show’s New Age healer offers an unconventional solution…

Record Nielsen ratings follow. But when Reagan decides to use her newfound power to teach everyone a lesson about sibling rivalry, she’s the one who will be schooled...

All Fall Down, Jennifer Weiner
There is no photo for this book yet, but I am positive I will not be disappointed. I have loved each and every one of Jennifer Weiner's books. They are all such different stories, but man do they ever stick with you.
Here is the amazon excerpt.
Allison Weiss has a great job…a handsome husband…an adorable daughter…and a secret.

Allison Weiss is a typical working mother, trying to balance a business, aging parents, a demanding daughter, and a marriage. But when the website she develops takes off, she finds herself challenged to the point of being completely overwhelmed. Her husband’s becoming distant, her daughter’s acting spoiled, her father is dealing with early Alzheimer’s, and her mother’s barely dealing at all. As she struggles to hold her home and work life together, and meet all of the needs of the people around her, Allison finds that the painkillers she was prescribed for a back injury help her deal with more than just physical discomfort—they help her feel calm and get her through her increasingly hectic days. Sure, she worries a bit that the bottles seem to empty a bit faster each week, but it’s not like she’s some Hollywood starlet partying all night, or a homeless person who’s lost everything. It’s not as if she has an actual problem.

However, when Allison’s use gets to the point that she can no longer control—or hide—it, she ends up in a world she never thought she’d experience outside of a movie theater: rehab. Amid the teenage heroin addicts, the alcoholic grandmothers, the barely-trained “recovery coaches,” and the counselors who seem to believe that one mode of recovery fits all, Allison struggles to get her life back on track, even as she’s convincing herself that she’s not as bad off as the women around her.

With a sparkling comedic touch and tender, true-to-life characterizations, All Fall Down is a tale of empowerment and redemption and Jennifer Weiner’s richest, most absorbing and timely story yet.

They all sound pretty amazing right?! I just finished reading Nineteen Minutes, by Jodi Picoult. I know its older, but wow. Just do yourself a favor and pick that puppy up. Amazingly written, couldn't put it down.

In other news, this weekend is the bachelorette party for the beautiful Becky! While I can't share any details on here quite yet, one of the tasks I was in charge of was decorations, which I handmade and am pretty proud of! So come on back, where I will give you the step by step of how I made them in the coming weeks! Hopefully I can get it all sync'd up properly with my DIY section finally!

Stay warm and cozy people!
